This doesn’t have much to do with Angelina Jolie but I’m downright pissed about it, so here we go.

ComingSoon is reporting that ABC will be producing a Mr. & Mrs. Smith television show. The show’s writer claims it’ll be like “Married with Children” with guns, and that it’ll be more comedic and darker than the movie.

Okay, first problem: something cannot be funnier AND darker at the same time. Especially on television. Second problem, I don’t want a great action movie like Mr. & Mrs. Smith to turn into “Married with Children” with guns. Once you watched a few episodes of that show, the novelty of a messed-up family wears off.

My biggest complaint with this is that Doug Liman, who not only directed the original Mr. & Mrs. Smith but also The Bourne Identity, is not only for the show, but he’s producing and directing the pilot himself.
